The stakes were high yesterday in Southbroom at the final of the Rip Curl grom search with trips to Australia to be awarded to the winners of the U16 divisions. It's big business these days and the little groms had their game faces on in the testing conditions. One dad decided that his son needed an upper/helping hand with the tricky rock jump and proceeded to throw him in at just the right time to avoid the set, classic! In the end Beyrick and Sarah took out out the premier divisions, well done guys, now clean up in OZ!

Ha ha that was epic! The lighties name is Ethan Fletcher. He surf's in the under 12 division. Pops just launched him off the bricks into the Southbroom cauldron - crazy!
