The Africa Project is the brainchild of my good friend Jason Hearn. Jason is an unbelievably talented filmmaker and one of the few guys I know that is just as passionate, if not more about what he does than I am. I've been fortunate to team up with him on this project for some of the destinations. It started with Jason coming along on my Dakar trip last January with Ricky Basnett and Royden Bryson for Zigzag This basically kicked off the Africa Project and gave it the momentum it was needing. Jason then went up the West Coast of South Africa before coming to Durban where I joined him on the South Coast. With a host of other destinations on the cards and an impressive list of South Africa's top surfers joining him, Jason has already ticked off Namibia and the big wave scene in Cape Town and after a lot of planning we leave tomorrow for Morocco.
